Indoor Gardening

With the increasing population in cities and in towns, houses with garden space are becoming limited. To add beauty to a house, city dwellers can grow a wide range of flowering and foliage plants in some containers in every corner of their house.

Indoor gardening is the art of growing indoor plants inside a house in a limited space. Indoor plants have their own significance besides aesthetic purposes. Most of the indoor plants act as Air purifiers and oxygen-producing plants.

Some of the examples of indoor plants are:

- Money plant, Arica palm, Holy basil, Snake plant, peace Lilly, spider plants, lucky bamboo, Rubber plants, Syngonium, Neem, Aloe vera, ficus spp plant as a bonsai, etc.

Types of indoor gardening:

1. Gardening in a hanging basket/pot

2. Window or window box gardening

3. Dish or Bowl Garden

4. Roof Garden

5. Balcony Garden

6. Terrarium Gardening

7. Wall Garden

Caring for indoor plants.

- Rotate the plants from time to time for proper sunlight.

- Indoor plants should be exposed to the morning sun after few days.

- Excess watering is to be avoided keeping the soil just moist.

- Never allow the potting to become mixture dry.

- Select pot according to the size of the plant.

As saying, a single pot is a whole garden. We can turn our home into a whole garden just by potting a single plant.
